Nope, you can use any guitar. It can be acoustic or electric. As long as it has strings and makes sound it should work!

Yes, Instinct is designed for total beginners. Our first lesson teaches you everything you need to know to get started. In just a few minutes, you'll be playing a recognizable song! :)
Yes, but you may get through our courses pretty fast. Right now, the courses are designed for beginners. Over time, we'll add more advanced courses. In the meantime, you should check out the 'Riffs' page inside the app. You'll see a bunch of riffs created by other users. Some are pretty hard!
Nope, there's nothing to download or install. Instinct runs entirely in the web browser. We recommend using the latest version of Safari, Chrome or Firefox.

Yes, there's a tuner inside the app. When you're inside the app just click the "Tuner" link in the top menu.
Not yet. Right now, Instinct requires a computer or laptop. In the future, we plan to build apps for iPad, iPhone and Android.
On most computers, your existing settings should work just fine. If you have an issue, make sure your microphone volume is between 50-80% and try disabling any special features such as "Noise Cancellation" and "Ambient Noise Reduction".
